Private In-Home Day Training

Day training is a more practical, more private approach to dog training for owners who want real progress without relying on weekly classes or trying to do everything themselves.

Rather than simply showing you what to do and leaving all of the implementation to you, I work directly with your dog in the home and in everyday life — building the foundations they need, then guiding you in maintaining the results.

What is day training?

Day training is a hands-on service where much of the early practical work is carried out by the trainer, rather than being left entirely to the owner.

This can be especially valuable for busy households, young dogs who need structure, or owners who want calm, professional support delivered in a more effective and more tailored way than standard lessons often allow.

At Cheshire Day Training, day training takes place where it matters most: in the home, in the garden, and in the routines that shape daily life.

Why choose day training?

For many owners, the difficulty is not understanding that the dog needs training — it is finding the time, consistency, and confidence to carry it out properly.

Day training helps bridge that gap.

It offers a more supported and more efficient route for owners who:

  • are short on time

  • prefer privacy over classes

  • want practical help in the home

  • need structure with a young or adolescent dog

  • want progress to happen in real-life situations, not just in a training field

This is not about excluding the owner from the process. It is about giving the dog a stronger foundation, then transferring that work back clearly and confidently to the household.

What can day training help with?

Day training is particularly well suited to:

  • recall foundations

  • lead walking

  • jumping up

  • overexcitement

  • household manners

  • settling in the home

  • door and gate boundaries

  • greeting visitors calmly

  • adolescent dogs who feel chaotic or unruly

  • general structure and consistency in day-to-day life

How the process works

Private Canine Assessment

Every programme begins with an in-home assessment. This allows me to understand your dog, your household, your current challenges, and the most appropriate way forward.

Tailored Training Visits

From there, training is carried out through private in-home sessions, tailored to the dog and the goals we are working towards. This may include work in the home, garden, local walks, or other real-life settings.

Owner Handover

A key part of day training is transfer. As progress is made, I guide you in understanding what has been put in place and how to maintain it confidently and consistently.

Ongoing Support

Depending on the programme, support may also include follow-up guidance, written notes, and continued help between visits.

Who this is for

Day training is designed for owners who value discretion, convenience, and a high standard of personal support.

It is especially suited to:

  • busy professionals

  • private households

  • owners who prefer a one-to-one service

  • young or adolescent dogs needing structure

  • owners who want more than standard weekly sessions

A more considered alternative to standard training

Cheshire Day Training is not built around crowded classes, generic advice, or one-size-fits-all packages.

It is a private, practical service designed to help owners create calmer routines, clearer behaviour, and a dog that fits more successfully into the household.
