A calm, practical approach shaped by experience
Cheshire Day Training was created by Warren Howell for owners who want a more private, more considered kind of support.
My approach is calm, practical, and grounded in real handling experience. I work best with owners who value discretion, clear guidance, and a high standard of personal service — whether they have a young dog that needs structure or a more difficult dog requiring thoughtful, capable support.
Rather than relying on generic advice or crowded class environments, I work in the places that matter most: the home, the garden, and everyday life. The aim is always to help create a dog that lives more successfully within the household, with training that feels tailored, realistic, and quietly effective.
Background
I am a military veteran, and that background has shaped the way I work: calm under pressure, observant, disciplined, and practical.
Over the years, I have built my knowledge through specialist dog handling, continued professional study, and a strong interest in behaviour — particularly aggression, safety, and the relationship between dog, handler, and environment. My work has included professional dog handling roles as well as time on major film sets, including work connected with Star Wars productions.
Today, Cheshire Day Training brings those experiences together in a service designed for private households who want more than ordinary dog training.
Approach
My work is not about noise, gimmicks, or trying to be all things to all owners.
It is about reading the dog in front of me, understanding the household around them, and applying practical training in a way that is measured, effective, and sustainable. I believe good training should feel calm, structured, and clear — and that owners should feel supported rather than overwhelmed.
For some clients, that means day training and practical implementation with a young or unruly dog. For others, it means more thoughtful behaviour support where handling, management, and real-life routines matter just as much as the training itself.
Professional development
My professional development includes training and study in dog handling, canine psychology, aggression, behaviour, and bite prevention.
This includes specialist study with respected figures in the field, alongside formal qualifications and ongoing membership within the professional dog training community. I continue to invest in education because I believe owners deserve a service that is both experienced and informed.
Working together
I work with a limited number of private clients at any one time in order to keep the service personal, considered, and consistent.
If you are looking for calm, in-home support delivered with discretion and a high standard of care, Cheshire Day Training offers a more tailored alternative to ordinary dog training.
